Lyle A. Bakst is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, Joint Committee on Legal Referral Service of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York,  The Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Queens County Bar. He was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge, City of New York, in 1987,  and remained an Administrative Law Judge for many years.

Mr. Bakst has a long history of involvement in community affairs, especially programs to benefit children with disabilities, including Heartsong, The Reece School  for Special Teaching,  and Albert Einstein Therapeutic Nursery. He was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst, New York.

Mr. Bakst has lectured extensively in the New York City Publics Schools and to many community organizations. His teaching experience includes the New York Institute of Technology, and has been called upon to judge moot court competitions at New York Law School.
